A hapé ceremony is a sacred & intentional space where we slow down, reconnect with ourselves and honour the spirit of the medicine.
The circles I hold are grounded in respect for the traditions, presence, ritual and deep listening. My intention is to create a safe held container where you can come home to yourself and receive the medicine in a mindful and supported way.
🌬️ Opening the Circle & Cleansing the Space
We begin by arriving together in the circle and gently transitioning out of the busyness of everyday life.
The ceremony opens with:
Energetic cleansing of the space
Grounding and centering breaths
A moment of stillness to connect to the body and breath
This helps to regulate the nervous system and bring everyone into a state of presence and receptivity.
🌿 Understanding the Medicine & Setting Intentions
Before the medicine is served, I share a little about the origins and sacred nature of hapé.
Hapé is a sacred blend of finely powdered medicinal plants and sacred tobacco, traditionally prepared by Indigenous tribes of the Amazon rainforest.
In many traditions, tobacco is considered a great teacher and spiritual ally, helping to:
Clear stagnant or heavy energies
Quiet the mind and bring clarity
Strengthen intention and prayer
Deepen connection to the Earth and spirit
Participants are then invited to connect inwardly and set a personal intention for the ceremony.
This could be:
Releasing something that no longer serves you
Seeking clarity or grounding
Opening to guidance or healing or abundance
Intentions act as an anchor for the experience, allowing the medicine to work in harmony with your inner wisdom.
🪶 Receiving the Hapé
The medicine is offered with care and respect.
Participants may receive hapé:
through a tepi
You will be guided to sit upright, breathe deeply, and receive the medicine with presence and awareness.
Depending on the energy of the circle and the needs of participants there may be a single serving or multiple rounds of hapé.
🥁 Holding the Medicine
After receiving the hapé, we sit together in stillness as the medicine begins to work.
During this time, I may support the space with:
Gentle drumming
Sacred songs or medicine songs
Guided breathing or meditation
These elements help to support the movement and integration of the medicine, allowing participants to soften, release, and listen inwardly.
The experience can be deeply grounding, clearing, and centering.
✨ Integration & Energy Support
As the ceremony begins to close, I offer gentle support to help integrate the experience.
This may include:
Reiki or energetic healing
Aromatherapy
Quiet grounding practices
Time for reflection or sharing within the circle
This stage helps the body and nervous system integrate the medicine in a calm and supportive way.
🌿 Grounding & Nourishment
Before leaving the space, participants are invited to ground themselves.
This may include:
Herbal tea
Water
A light grounding snack such as fruit, nuts or cacao.
Grounding the body after ceremony is important to help bring the experience back into everyday awareness.
✨ Each ceremony unfolds uniquely, guided by the energy, the spirit of the medicine and the intentions brought into the space.
My role is to hold a safe, respectful and compassionate container so that you can experience the medicine in a way that is supportive, meaningful, and aligned with your own healing journey.
